About the Doctors

R. Brian Molloy D.D.S.

Dr. Brian Molloy is a native Oklahoman from Lawton. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Cameron University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, he completed a general practice residency at the Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma and then moved to Gainesville, Florida where he received his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Florida College of Dentistry and Shands Hospital. Dr. Molloy is a member of the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and is active in numerous various local and national organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Oklahoma Pediatric Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Oklahoma Dental Association. He attends many continuing educational seminars and takes great pride in providing his patients with the latest in pediatric dental technology.

Providing excellent dental care for children in an enjoyable and safe environment is very important to Dr. Molloy and his staff. He attends numerous medical/dental emergency seminars and has obtained his certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. The entire staff at Smile Zone also remains current in CPR and with pediatric medical emergencies.

Charles K. Morin, D.M.D., M.Sc.
 
Dr.  Morin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Alabama and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.  Following two years of service as a commissioned dental officer in the Indian Health Service in New Mexico, he began a two year pediatric dental residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine.  Pursuing his interest in teaching after completing his pediatric dental residency, he spent the next three years as an assistant professor in the Pediatric Dental Department at Baylor College of Dentistry.  During his pediatric dental residency, Dr. Morin became interested in the specialty of orthodontics.  While teaching the pediatric dental residents at Baylor, he assisted in their orthodontic education and realized that pediatric dentistry and orthodontics naturally complement one another.  So, he returned to graduate school at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry, where he completed a three year residency in orthodontics and received a Master of Science degree.
 
Dr. Morin is board certified in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.  He is diligent about staying current with the latest developments in both specialties through ongoing continuing education.  Dr. Morin maintains an active membership in the American Association of Orthodontists, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, the Oklahoma Orthodontic Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the Oklahoma Pediatric Dentistry Association, the American Dental Association, and the Oklahoma Dental Association.
 

Dr. Morin is committed to achieving the best possible treatment results, and he strives to provide board quality care for each patient in a safe and nurturing environment.  He considers the opportunity to care for children to be both a privilege and a blessing.  Dr. Morin, his wife Ahsha, and their children have recently relocated to Oklahoma City and look forward to establishing their home here.  Dr. Morin's hobbies include triathlon training and golf, and both he and his wife have a passion for mission work.

Phil Jun, D.D.S.

Dr. Phil Jun began his education at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and then graduated from Michigan Tech with an engineering degree. After working as an engineer for a few years, Dr Jun decided that he should pursue his interest in dentistry and applied to, and was accepted to the dental program at the University of Oklahoma. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery from OU College of Dentistry, Dr. Jun joined the Smile Zone team. Dr. Jun is a member of the Oklahoma Dental Association and American Dental Association. Dr. Jun, his wife Grace, and their children, Samuel and Pheobe, have all made Oklahoma City their home. Dr. Jun enjoys his hobbies of golf and photography.

Jim Murtaugh, DDS, MS

Dr. Murtaugh received his dental degree from the University of Iowa, completed a dental internship at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City, and completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Iowa, receiving a Master’s degree in 1972.  He began private practice of Pediatric Dentistry in Oklahoma City in 1972, and in 1974 joined the faculty of the Oklahoma University College of Dentistry on a part time basis.  He was certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1978 and was awarded Fellowship in the American College of Dentists in 1987.  Dr. Murtaugh is a past president of the Oklahoma Association of Pediatric Dentists and the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.  He has served on or chaired committees for the Oklahoma County Dental Society, the Oklahoma Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He retired from private practice in 2001, established a dental clinic at the City Rescue Mission, and provided pediatric dental services for the Indian Health Service.  He recently completed four years as a member of the Medical Advisory Committee to the Oklahoma Health Care Authority and continues as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at the Oklahoma University College of Dentistry.
